Shes very disappointed in me and my life choices but I dont want to change a thing about my life. I dont feel as bad as I made her feel. Am I supposed to? I dont have any empathy anymore, I've been debating getting professional help before I spiral downhill further

Are you happy with your life? Is it the result of mostly ethical choices? If so, her feelings are not your responsibility.

It depends greatly on what you are doing, BUT your mother is an adult and responsible for her own feelings. Mayhaps get counseling.

Get help and stop talking to her. Sounds like she's a negative aspect in your life, but you could benefit from some counseling.

If you've said multiple times that it's your life and not hers, sometimes you finally have to say, "BUTT OUT AND MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS."

It's your life, not hers. As long as you can keep yourself on a trajectory you're happy with, it's really none of her business.

To make your life choices based on whether somebody else is happy or not is classic codependency. Definitely recommend you start counseling.

This needs context. Are you selling opiates and murdering children or does she just not like your choice of a kitchen backsplash?

I never finished the backsplash on my previous home kitchen remodel, this bothers me as an "unfinished task" in my life.
