Ñero Tax

Ñero has not had an easy life. He got lost for three months (turns out someone from another neighborhood took him but he managed to escape and return to the station), he was run over by a car and he was stabbed in a neighborhood brawl. Four years ago, he suffered an accident while on duty when a bus hit the patroling motorcycle. One patrolman died, the other was left handicapped and the dog was severly injured. The entire force chipped in for his recovery and for the past year and a half he has been able to walk and run along with the cops.

Dogs are so amazing .. they are nothing but love. They are loyal, loving, and smart. I love dogs. They help on so many levels.

I love how the dog always outranks the handler

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Humans and dogs alike, thanks for your service.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We didn't do enough to deserve dogs as humans

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How does a dog still trust you after you make it jump out of a plane?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Who's a good boy? All of you are.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's getting to the point I can do all my imguring on Facebook five days before it happens here

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For me it's the other way around: I usually see it first of imgur. But pretty sure not all these are reposts

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

We don't deserve dogs.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

His name is Jake Carlberg. His friend there in the picture is Abby. Luckily Jakes family just got Abby after she retired.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

these dogs are more helpful than most group partners

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Damn, badass dog to be stabbed in a neighborhood brawl and survived.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

/a/eI6Ha more on Ñero

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Please tell us #11 was ok

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Drak and his handler, Sgt. Fischer, survived the bombing. He was given the purple heart, and has retired to live with Sgt. Fischer in Texas

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thanks very much for that! The poor dog must have been in a lot of pain and looked so scared. Glad it had a happy ending. +1 for Drak!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mans best friend, truly.

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Nero is a serious full on badass!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

/a/eI6Ha there was a special on Ñero on Colombian TV

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Most of the colombian army and police dogs have a price on their head by guerrilla groups. Sacha has her own bodyguards!

Okay so this might be a stupid question but can/do military working dogs ever suffer from PTSD from being in combat? Genuinely interested..

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yes. They can get terrified of gunfire and react in unexpected ways to stress--pretty much like human PTSD.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

so they must really freak out with fireworks then

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

They can. The dogs originally didn't react (mine don't care), but then change. There was a show about training dogs for combat/protection.

Red rocket spotted on #5!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

he's super excited about his job!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fun Fact: DOGS ARE AMAZING!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I never understood the argument against women being in the army b/c men would sacrifice themselves for them.. i'd sacrifice myself for a 1/

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

dog in a heartbeat and I feel that would be a common thought process.. lol. 2/2

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

depending on the person I'd jump in the line of a bullet for a dog over a person.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Right? It's a sad truth. I mean, I already cry more in movies when a dog/animal dies over people, and I know that's true for so many.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The eyes on #11 ... Fuck :(

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Exactly my thoughts. Poor little guy. At least he made a full recovery.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These dogs have more career opportunity than me. I need vodka

10 years ago | Likes 277 Dislikes 2

Amen to that.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Sacha has that too.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

is that u Vlad?

10 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Go join the army.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

The dog always gets promoted to a higher rank than the handler. The dog still wins.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And they don't. That's why they're better than you.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well I mean if you joined the service you would probably have about the same

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Well they didn't waste 4 years getting an overpriced but useless college degree.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Gotem!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#16 just about turned on the water works. Srsly. Onions.

10 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 1

Doggy prosthetic? My heart twinged too.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#11 is the one that had that effect on me

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

#12 made me tear up a little.... That hug looks so sorely needed

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

and the dog looks like he knows somehow, and has such a stoic and dignified pose.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What does a dog think as it's falling from 10,000 feet? I guess it's every dog's fantasy? Whole body out the car window, not just the head.

10 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 1

that dog: "um"

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would imagine that the dog must have hella trust in its hooman to do that. Probably still pretty scared, but trusts it'll all be OK.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I believe they are thinking "WHARABArLAGALLA"

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They re frightened as fuck..

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I was thinking the exact same thing.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I may be mistaken, but I think dogs don't have a sense of height, or a very very low sense of height

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That might be true, my poodle can jump up on a high cabinet but he is unable to come down after that. He will cry for us to help him down.

"Hey! What’s this thing? This … let’s call it a tail – yeah, tail. Hey! I can can really thrash it about pretty good can’t I? Wow! Wow!"

10 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was, "Oh no, not again."
