I am a bald woman.

Feb 20, 2016 7:35 PM

Today I shaved off my hair for Macmillan!

In 2015 both my grandmothers died of cancer, and I wanted to give something back to the charity that helped my family so much.

Choosing to shave your head is not the same as being bald...

Um...yeah it is. To be bald means to have no hair...

Not too many women would look as good bald as you do! Also, very cool what you did, OP!

Haha, it's easy to improve on imperfection

I disagree! :) You're obviously a beautiful person inside & out, OP. I don't know too many people who would do what u did.

I actually like it better than with hair. First woman for me to look better without hair

Thanks, I think... Lol

Also! The hair that got cut off has been donated to a charity that makes wigs for children who've lost their hair due to illness :)

It's more than hair, when it becomes a wig, it's a moment of happiness for someone.

Good on ya, is what I'm saying.

That's why I'm doing it. My hair will grow back quickly, but to a kid the wig will help them not feel like they're different :)

I am, but unlike hair, it takes a little longer than 1 day to get rid of it.

True, but considering they both died of cancer it may not be a bad idea to work on getting healthier in honor of them.

And that's what I am doing, but like I said, losing weight doesn't happen over night.

Oh of course not, and nobody would expect that I was just saying that it's a good source of motivation. Worked for me and I went (1)

through a very similar situation losing both of my grandmas within a short period of time to cancer. (2)
