*Hobbit Hole. ;)

Starting to? Welcome. I've been here for years.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My ideal home would be a cabin in the middle of a forest high up in the mountains

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

A lot of preppers had the same idea

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously, why aren't more houses built? Underground underground temperature stays the same year round. It would be more green! Go mow the roof!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All those survival skills learned in Air Cadets gonna pay off.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Being slightly claustrophobic, I'll look into deserted islets.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can I put in some skylights?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve always dreamed of having a subterranean house with a beautiful field on top. Nothing to do with watching TMNT. Nope. Nothing at all.

I'm gonna die in the water wars of the 2050s

But why not make it a round hobbit door? So much cooler that way.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been stockpiling spices so I can sell them once the collapse comes. They'll make the gun barrel taste better when people blow their heads off.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Too expensive. I can't afford land.

Is there wifi?

This place had a massive shelter in it with all kinds of features. Picture Show in the listing but their information has been removed it's now a crime scene. https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/1266-Willis-Branch-Rd_Richmond_KY_40475_M31300-21430 https://www.richmondregister.com/news/upd">-21430">https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/1266-Willis-Branch-Rd_Richmond_KY_40475_M31300-21430 https://www.richmondregister.com/news/update-ksp-confirm-details-of-fatal-shooting-at-former-state-reps-home/article_13fc7e9a-93eb-11ec-ba97-fbe8b02f0dfe.html

I love how money doesnt buy class or taste, what a tacky looking house.

Move to Debert, Nova Scotia ;)

Hobbit holes are very comfortable and cozy

2 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

So you mean that hobbits are descendants of preppers who bought middle silos ?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Missile

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That sounded a lot less dirty in my mind before I started typing it out

That's the phrase my gf uses to initiate sexy times, and yes, in Gollums voice as well. Just goes to show you all you need to do is quote Gimli "toss me, just don't tell the elf"and it will get you a call back after a camping weekend swimming in the lake

Living underground has terrible air quality, you have to be really careful.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m pretty sure people that bought missile silos as bunkers are happy with it.

2 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

well .. yes those are the kind of places that will be the last remnants of humanity lol

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They typically require lots of maintenance I have had

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

apparently the problem is a stable fresh water supply

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Well, I don't think I'd keep horses

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Power is also a problem in those silos.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Depends on the design of the facility. I've seen some people sacrifice a surface vent as a passthrough, but not all of em will have something like that. The biggest issue I've seen though is getting wastewater and sewage OUT of the bunker. Usually requires a strong pump that is designed for such things. Some facilities have extensive subfloors though (the rooms themselves being on massive springs and dampers), so that can help in running utilities.

I prefer to be devoured by wolves

The Optical dissonance in this image gave me a stroke

I'm starting to think the ideal home is an underground bunker, with all the neighbors revving their engines down my street and my roommates being loud af

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The supernatural bunker is about perfect

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just want to Live in a cabin in the middle of the forest where no one can find it, but there are too many logistic problems with that

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oddly enough, my retirement plan is also underground: 6 feet to be precise.

2 years ago | Likes 236 Dislikes 0

Cremation is cheaper and won't take up land forever.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sounds expensive.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Just burn me to ash on the work floor

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My wife and I were just discussing over breakfast that we need to make plans for a painless double suicide. That's our retirement plan.

2 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Well you can wait and see how the voluntary euthanasia debate works out. Otherwise do something zany like a bunny suicide skit.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Morbid but realistic

2 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

Maybe spice things up with a double homicide?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Double assisted suicide!

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Break out the old Thanatron!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Might I suggest carbon monoxide, sleep, don’t really know it’s purposeful (insurance still pays out), easy to “accidentally” happen

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

With no alarms and no surprises?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i feel insurance companies could somehow find this and use it as an excuse to not pay out

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Carbon poisoning isn't painless. You become disoriented and have headaches. Source: Survived an accidental carbon leak. For the "Just go to sleep" experience, use nitrogen.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Absolutely this

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...who does insurance payout to if they're both dead from a double suicide...?

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

If anyone doesn’t have someone to collect life insurance after they go, may I suggest me? I could be that for you!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Children, usually. But anyone can be named a beneficiary.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

There's the rub...we have no children or other family members to take care of us, so it would be nice to leave insurance money for whomever processes the body, unless we come up with a plan that leaves no bodies behind. Remember, this has to be something that two really old and perhaps physically incompetent or weak people can do. So I'm not sure that we could pilot a boat out into the ocean, kill ourselves painlessly and automatically sink it.

Oh absolutely would live in the Shire in a hobbit house. When's second breakfast?

2 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

at my age, probably before first shot of insulin if I'm eating that much.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's the trick. Whenever you want.

Why did the "The Daily Life" song from Dark Cloud INSTANTLY pop into my head from seeing this?

Bilbo is the character I relate more with than any other else from any other story
