I’m not a huge reader. The missus gave me this book for Christmas. And honestly I love it and I want everyone I know to read it. An Orc opens a coffee shop in a village that has no idea what coffee is.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Came across it before but didn’t put it in my to-read list. But I just now did. Glad you enjoyed it and thx for the rec

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The cover art itself has me interested.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I just read this yesterday and loved it! The perfect cozy fantasy palate cleanser!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am a pretty big reader, and just loved loved loved this book. Recommended to me as "cozy fantasy" which was a great description.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I cannot recommend this book enough! It is heartwarming, interesting, engaging and everything at the same time! Such a delight! ♥

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Read it a couple of months ago. Nice and wholesome read.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thimble is the best character in the book. I will hear no arguments.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why would there be? You’re right

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Silly orc makes bean water drinks.

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

I seen this in my recommendations awhile back, may have to puck it up if another Imgurian says it was good!

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was really really good

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Saw that when I picked up the vax and vex origin book, planning on reading it next.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yesssss! Kith and Kin was a delight to read as well! ♥

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The quote at the top of the cover is from my favourite author. It's a very cozy book and really enjoyable.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She is also how I found this book, off her twitter, have read a good chunk of her books too.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yall, please look into the Cradle series that this author narrated for Will Wight. That is how I found this book. Travis B is awesome.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes. This. 1000%

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Personally found Travis through Artorian's Archives, sad he's no longer narrating the latest entries.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I cannottt wait for Waybound!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It really was good...I got it on kindle.. Just on a whim... Surprised me

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I checked - my library has it. It's in such demand that it looks liked my hold will come up in late summer.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Travis baldree is a great narrator. I did t even know he was an author also. If he narrates a book it’s good basically. There’s a few I 1/

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Just listen through their caroling when looking for series and he’s one of them.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where do you find that particular cover? The one on Amazon is much more boring.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wife got it from Amazon

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I AM a huge reader, and I thought it was a great read. Surprisingly good story, cute and with a bit of humor. But not a 'schtick'

3 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 4

How huge? Fezzik sized? Are paperbacks a bit fiddly for you?

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

This sounds absolutely stupid! (will buy it right now!)

3 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 4

It's tremendously charming.

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

I went to buy it. $26 for a 300 page book. I'm gonna pass.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is 15€ here in Germany, sadly with the other cover.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s it exactly!!! Stupid fun times

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I heard a lot about this book and wish I could get it one day

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's just something about the slow-life fantasy subgenre that makes for a nice, comfortable read.

3 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

You will probably like "Beware of Chicken: A Xianxia Cultivation Novel"

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Seconding this. Protagonist looks at the harsh and troubled life of a fantasy ki cultivator and goes 'No thanks. I'm gonna go start a farm'.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well-written Cosy Fantasy is the best. It's like a cup of tea, under a fuzzy blanket, floofy animal on my feet -comfy.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of the game Coffee Talk or if I stretch a bit, VA-11 Hall-A.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I absolutely adore those games!

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Vahalla was the only game i play formed on the Vita. And coffee talk was amazing. The NG+ was a surprise

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Are there sexyfuntimes? I'm looking for something for a frustratingly prudish reader...

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

I consider it very tame. There’s a sweet romance, with no explicit content.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Nothing R-Rated. PG-13 at best, and that is mostly because it's LBGTQ. Most sexually explicit thing in it is a kiss.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

I mean the two on the cover are definitely fuckin'

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

I’ve yet to come across any naked bouncy yum yum times and I’m halfway through

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

There is none. It is only implied that they are both lesbians/bi, but nothing happens.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Cool- I almost forwarded Alfie based on the art... Then read some and it's pretty bawdy.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I’m over half way done and I wouldn’t say it’s bawdy but to each their own

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I was being silly- Alfie is a pretty graphic comic. But the book is already on the way!

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

@op if you are interested, the Author Travis Baldree is also a narrator. He narrated his own book and many others on audible.

3 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

*thoughts of Waybound intensifies*

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea I had no idea he was also a writer. He is easily in my top 3 of narrators.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

His narration is what gets me wanting the book but the audiobook is so short and I hate paying that much for so few hours

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I stumbled over him from the awesome Dakota Krout books.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That’s what my son mentioned. I’m trying to read more and not pay audible so much

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

It's on Libby

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tokybooks has a lot of audiobooks for free, I'm just not sure how legal it is lol

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lots of libraries rent ebooks just fyi

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not for independent authors. Audible gives them 40% of sales if they are exclusive but only 25% if they allow others including libraries.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wow neither of those %s seems remotely high enough

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I learned that from Brandon sanderson. For his new project he opted to work with Spotify and speechify instead

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for the review! I was looking at this at the book store this week. I'll put it on my list. I bought like 8 books this week...

3 years ago | Likes 125 Dislikes 2

8? I bought my niece a book she wanted for Christmas. $26 for what I’d consider a paperback.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a gift card that funded some of it. Bought 2 or 3 at the used book store. Target had a great online sale for books!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cutting back?

3 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ugh the to be read pile is out of control lol

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The comfort of rereading outweighs the risk of 'new and maybe sucks' so often

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Buying books and reading books are two separate hobbies"

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They sure are!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Much like craft supplies and crafting.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had to institute a meta pile. I have lists of things to read but I can't get new books until I am on the last physical book I acquired.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I grandfathered all the books I had acquired prior to that idea. Been chipping away at that pile for years and it is ridiculous but less so.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When I worked in an office I got a lot of reading done because I'd read on the train. 2 hours per day of reading. Not so much now that I'm

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That sounds like something that came from a Tumblr post

3 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 4

I understand this originated as a nanowrimo submission, so close enough!

3 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

It’s by the guy who did Torchlight 1 & 2

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Terrible, I agree

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 55

Dude, you're on Imgur. For most of humanity there's very little difference between an imgurite and a Tumbleroner, if any.

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

That would explain Imgur's massive quality drop over the years yes

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Imgur is like 30% Tumblr screen shots. It's wild that people who use this site shit on Tumblr so frequenty.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It's the same mentality that has conservatives shit on women, minorities, and the queer community while also wanting them so bad.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Be fair, "person starts a thing we modern folk recognize in a fantasy setting and locals react" is also very Terry Pratchett.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

In-shur-ants?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

While that's not untrue I'm going to have to ask you to Please refrain from insulting my boy Terry P by comparing him to Tumblr ilk.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Neil Gaiman is on Tumblr. If Pterry were still alive, I wouldn't be surprised to see him there, too. Unclench, snob.

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Tumblr goes overboard sometimes, but there's good stuff there too.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't get your gender neutral panties in a bunch.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

Wow. That was pretty uncool. Thumbs down, man. Be better.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Sir Pterry would be very disappointed in your attitude.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Read it and loved it! Great read for a NaNoWriMo product. Hope they write more!

3 years ago | Likes 276 Dislikes 5

Good news! He's working on another book.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I still haven't finished Harriet Porber trans wizard i can't commit yet godammit

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Oh shit, it was a NaNoWriMo project. That's awesome!

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

What's that string of letters mean?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

National Novel Writing Month, commonly known by the acronym NaNoWriMo, is a creative writing challenge that happens annually every November.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cool, so this book was a result of that?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep. Written during the month and quite the fun read,

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think there's a prequel in the works.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, NaNowhat now?

3 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 0

National Novel Writing Month, commonly known by the acronym NaNoWriMo, is a creative writing challenge that happens annually every November.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

National Novel Writing Month. All November pretty much

3 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 0

You know no nut november? Well for much longer writers have been doing the exact opposite, trying to nut as much wordsauce as possible.

3 years ago | Likes 92 Dislikes 0

Why you have to say it like that...

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

top description

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Writers try to write 50K words in the month of November. It's a challenge every year.

3 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

And it's pretty awesome too (while also heavily energy draining if you have a family to tend to)

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Like a big ol' jam session... for writers?

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Exactly!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damn I wish I knew about it. Though I have a really difficult time writing more than a few pages. :/

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It's a way to stop thinking and keep writing. Quantity first, quality later. There are forums and active online groups too.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

What lemjau said - also, remember that any is better than none. I tasked my husband to finally write out the framework for a novel he's >

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

> been planning, and while I don't think it was anywhere near 50,000 words, he *does* now have almost the whole thing planned out. Just >

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I did it last year. What really helped was being in a discord dedicated to it and doing writing sprints every day.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Do... this is very important. Do the orc... I need to know... do the orc and the tiefling kiss?

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

That tail on those biceps is mighty suspicious, in that regard.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This book was hugely PG-13, the romance was mostly just implied in a will they/won't they way. Sweet, beautiful, wonderful book.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes, but it's a succubus. They kiss in a wholesome way, not a smutty way.

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Does the orc become a vampire?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

No, she becomes a barista.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ah, so she's the one getting her blood drained.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would have used a different rimshot gif but couldn't find it
