After a couple years of searching craigslist and making phone calls that lead nowhere, i can proudly say i own a 1985 toyota celica supra!

I love the older body style cars with sharp angles and straighter lines. (Like older bmw's)

The back seat is for looks only unless you're a child.

5 speed manual with original radio, (works but speakers and antenna need fixing). People actually used to steal the seats, wheels, and radios out of these cars because they could fit the regular celica. Also just nice in general.

The guy who had it before me did a fair ammount of work to it and it runs great. I even have it inspected as a daily driver.

I like curves on ladies but straight lines on cars

my girlfriend at the time, now wife, totaled my '83. The EMT said she would have died had she been in her car, a '73 Beetle. Great cars.

Totally wanted this car when I was a kid.

I almost had a 1977 Celica Gt but the guy couldn't get his story straight with the title and I had to walk away so I was pretty bummed

I inherited a 1990 celica...her name was Sally, she was a 5 speed and went so fast. I had her for about 10 years. I loved that little car.

I love seeing some one appreciate the sharp angles and hard lines such as I! What a nice find, I've always wanted a supra. Had an older BMW

Came looking for this. The dude with the glass cleaner in his glasses is classic.

@OP how much did you pay for it?

5,000 us

Great car. My dad owned one. I was driving between Green Bay and Appleton and got it up to 115. Never told my dad

OMG it looks like my dad's old car, except he had the louvres on the back window. I agree with the look of the old BMWs.

I had an 83, I miss it soo much, thing was a BLAST

It was essentially the straight six motor in the Jaguar XKE but with hydraulic lifters. How could you go wrong with THAT setup!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

DOHC straight six; clarification. Much smaller displacement though, XKE=4.2 liters

I'M SO JEALOUS! I have a Mk3 but love the Mk2.

I know what you're saying. I cant get enough of this body style

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Me too, mk2 was my gateway to mk3. I can register and insure my 1989 mk3 as a vintage car next year in Australia, at 1/3 the cost!!! :)

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah but as a vintage in the us you cant drive it whenever you want

Please take a million photos during the rebuild! I also love the angular style in these!

That's a good car time for a 1/2JZGTE? Or throw a 1/3UZ in it?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Beauty. Had an ‘82 celica. Great car. Get the louvers for the back window for extracool

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Already thought about it but the stock spoiler kinda ruins the look

Just watched a donut media video about this car today, congrats man!

2jz soon?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So is this similar to the trueno or where's the difference at? Looks mint!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesn't have the trunk space and was produced in us. I think it might've been made later as well.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm convinced it's an US hachi roku

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@OP keeping the M series engine or going up to a J or UZ series engine?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was considering putting a 98 supra engine in it down the road. No 1300 hp build but i like the thought of old/new.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do it once, do it right, 2jzgte and you will not regret using a lesser motor later.

I had an 85 Celica with a 5 speed. Not as much power (relatively) as the Supra but still a fun car. Nice find!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Had the same! 85 Celica GTS lift back. Loved the airpump lumbar support.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mine was the coupe actually but still a great car. Had well over 200k miles on it when I sold it.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine too. Miss almost as much as my E30 convertible
