I feel ya. Unexpectedly needed to have my appendix removed. There were some complications and I missed 5 weeks of work. My savings are gutted and I'm working on getting my medical bills taken care of. It sucks. Hope you feel better soon 💕
I wasn't going to say anything, but I suffered a stroke July 9th. Lost my job June and my insurance ran out June 30th. 21k bill, no job. I'm sorry this happened to you, but if you need to chat, I'm here
my last gf had a stroke at 35 about 2 months ago. It was hard to deal with but she had some issues with a leg infection that she didn't see the doctor about... a cut that didn't heal. caused clots, almost killed her
Yep, at the very start of the pandemic. At the ripe old age of thirty, I had my stroke. Spent a month in the hospital, most of that in rehab learning to walk again.
Life doesn't hate you. It loves you so much that it gave you an early warning sign, so you're still here. You could be dead. It still leaves you feeling horrible, though, but this way, there's a chance you can grow old.
Nope, nope, nope, nope. You're way more worth alive. It's just in a different currency than money. While you're alive, things can look up. When you're dead, your eyes are forever closed.
Totally feel you. I had a sudden hospital stay and had to return to work way too quickly because we do not get paid time off and I had medical bills to pay. It was brutal. I was in so much pain.
I had a stroke 1/6/22 on day before last at company before starting a new job in a week. I feels the pain with you man, still have last feeling on left side of my body. Let me know if you ever need advice or vent.
I first read "financially recovering financially" and thought wow he is a really good sport joking about that stroke already. maybe I should get checked aswell... all the best for you!
I feel ya. It always seems to be something, huh? In my opinion, the most dangerous threat to financial stability is medical issues. At least in the U.S.
I appreciate you commenting. I was making a really bad implication that you were the cup as the subject of the picture. I didn’t even notice your fingers in the picture. I hope you recover quickly.
I survived 2 brain aneurysms at once in 2001. It was 2 years in recovery until I felt like me again. Rest, read, do your PT & OT. Apply for state disability if you live in Dem state. If not talk w docs about SSI. Apply for Medcaid. Best wishes! You'll be alright.
you'd be amazed at how much you can recover after a stroke. a lot depends on what kind and where but I've seen people who never imagined they'd walk again walking and living their best lives. if you don't have function in your arm back just yet, don't give up on it, keep up with physical therapy. support groups can also really help a lot, talking with people who've gone through it too makes a huge difference
I had a stroke at 32 as well. Shit memory, depth perception issues, and weak left side. But I turn 38 in less than 2 weeks. Stay strong and do your rehab.
Patience & time, do the exercises in between rehab classes. Most of all be patient with yourself, others may witness improvements before you do. Brain swelling has to go down & some clots reabsorb. You are about to become ambidextrous.
Psychobeanz
Wishing you a swift recovery!

Good luck in recovery. The last time I had a stroke they kicked me out of the library.

I sadly can relate to that (well... the stroke part atleast). Just came home after two days staying in the hospital. Get well mate.

I can relate. I had a heart attack at 43 (and I'm not a huge man)! I also caught it immediately.

My feeling on that is let me die. I don’t want my family in debt and I am worth more dead than alive

Life evidently isn’t loving you right now, but my guess is it’s the USA and it’s general policies that really hates you.

I'm glad you're mostly ok! What did it feel like while it was happening?

Yeah I maybe want to go to the US to make money but come back home to retire I don't know if I can afford to get old there.
TheSlurmFactory
Yeah that really only applies to the US for the most part
