Look, it's a shiny gold crown! Don't worry about what it represents...

Nov 5, 2025 10:19 PM

If we could hear President Lee's thoughts in this moment, I bet it'd be "맙소사, 진짜 멍청한 놈이야".

It is also exclusively a funerary crown for interment it's too weak, flimsy to be worn by those above ground. TLDR; Lee saying "dead king walking"

trump looks sooo South Park there. Reeeeelax.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This picture also reminds me that Trump has no idea how a hand shake actually works.

Also, that style of crown was only used in burial rites. They were never worn by living monarchs.

His ears are pink because he can't see them. He does his own makeup and he doesn't think about color toning his ears. He has a world renown model as a wife and they are both too stupid to paint his ears orange.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not only that, the particular crown that was gifted is only used in the grave/tomb of the deceased king. It’s a death crown!

The Silla Dynasty was actually a golden age for Korea. Among their many achievements was the development of the Hwarang - basically femboi knights. Beautiful, courtly, badass. The Silla were also able to unify Korea and hold it against the predatory attentions of both China and Japan (who have a LONG history of invading each other, often with Korea caught between them). https://www.worldhistory.org/Silla/

"The Silla Dynasty and the United Silla came to an end in 935 in part as a result of increasing corruption and the oppression of its people. Earlier in the dynasty, Silla rulers had given land allotments to peasants and developed an excellent irrigation system."

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that's the standard cause of death for dynasties. Dynasties do not fall apart due to being too prosperous and well governed.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Translation: "Oh my God, what a real idiot"

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Heh, I know. I asked Google Translate what the translation from English to Korean would be for "Christ, what an asshole" and that's what it came up with.

*sigh* I llive like 5 blocks from LA's Koreatown... I should probably try to learn at least some Korean.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So my translation may not be great, I just used Duck Duck Go translation service because I was curious, but Google translate gave "Oh my god, he's such an idiot". A fun exercise is to reverse the languages twice and see what happens. The Korean changes and then English comes out "Oh man, that guy is really stupid". Translation from Korean is, I imagine, very difficult and not going to be 1:1 always. All I got through with Korean was countin 1-10.

Hmm. I thought that dynasty and things associated with it are well regarded as valuable and culturally significant.

It's a replica.

Maybe? I will admit that I know zero about Korean history, I am relying on others who I thought did know.

IT WAS THE BEST CROWN! PROBABLY THE BEST CROWN OF THEM ALL! YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A GOOD CROWN!

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Here's the funny thing though, all the dynasties fell pretty much due to corruption, financial issues, mismanagement/ poor governance, and/or revolt. But hey, I'm not disagreeing with OPs post.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Honestly this is totally fair. But, you know, I just posted the thing, I'm not pretending I know about this stuff, heh

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah, dynasties don't tend to fall to "successfully ran the kingdom and made everyone prosperous and happy"

Ma n Pa restaurants are probably fine, just not the corporate chains. I doubt a ton of people can just go on strike at work for a week. I agree with the motive though

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That's what the month building up to it is for. Buy the right kind of food for it and hunker the fuck down. you *can* do it, but it *will* be difficult.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I expect the problem @LowTinaTurner raises is more to do with their boss taking a dim view of their unexplained absence from work than with having food.

It's very very thin gold men specifically as a funerary crown. In other words, it's on the cheap end when it comes to crowns made of gold. How fitting for trump.

I can't find any of this info about silla falling to corruption or about wearing it when dead, do you have any sources for this? I'm not sure what to search for

"The Silla Dynasty ended in 935 CE when its last king, Gyeongsun, peacefully surrendered to Wang Geon, who had founded the new Goryeo dynasty" hmmmm....

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 14

The Silla dynasty ended in 935 CE when its last king, Gyeongsun, surrendered to Wang Geon, who founded the Goryeo dynasty. The decline was caused by a combination of internal factors like corruption, aristocratic infighting, and oppression of the common people, which led to widespread peasant revolts and the breakdown of central authority.

Why not just provide a link? Search engines suck these days

It took all one 2 seconds to copy the text, "silla dynasty end" and input into search engine, immediate results. You suck.
