I met a person whose current CTO or CFO? worked at PayPal with muskrat. Part of the PayPal gang apparently. And he has said to many a people and to this person I met that muskrat does ketamine, ALOT. It's pretty wild, since A) Trump's got Musk on immigration violations and finance crimes, and can in theory black bag his ass 2 seconds after getting sworn in, but B) Musk, at least in theory, has some extremely damaging leverage on congress and the broader GOP, given the DOGE bullshit and how fast he seemed to be able to shut down the protests against the Trump cabinet. Potential mutually assured destruction situation in play.

I imagine he valued his three wives at some point. I bet it cut real deep when every single one of them divorced him, particularly his divorce with Grimes seemed to significantly change his behavior for the worse. One of his wives even divorced him twice to really get the message across I guess. And then when one of his kids came out as trans, Elon initially supported them, until they turned on him then he became super anti-trans. I think him realizing he's unlovable truly broke him.

Likely the illusion is slowly fading for him. He's throwing money left & right, but the people don't stay his 'friends'/loyal or keep asking for more. Might be he got a realization of loneliness that he knows can't be filled no matter how many billions he throws. He desperately wants to be the fun/popular guy & for a while he was (when most saw him as the funky tech billionaire) but now more & more people are turning against him, despite all the money he throws their way.

Truth told, the man always came across as someone suffering from a perpetual episode of mania, and only now just crashing. For the longest time, he thought he could do anything, he thought he was a super hero, that he was the greatest person alive, nothing could stop him! Typical feelings some people going through mania would feel. I know my manic episodes are like that. But then he encountered something he doesn't know how to do, and is suffering the crash, the irritation, anger, and so on.

I actually wonder how he'd have turned out had people not helped enable things as much. I heard stories about Tesla and/or SpaceX where more work was put into "managing" him than managing the actual company. And the lack of that kind of management is what lead to the rapid downfall of Twitter, since he just forced everything, good or bad, with no one to stop and explain to him what would happen.
