Evidently if you collect it in like, barrels, it's fine. No making your own series of lakes without permits, though.

The article title is misleading, the dude diverted a river to fish in his backyard, that's HIGHLY illegal, collecting rainwater is legal.

mainly an issue here in the west/midwest. people would block streams and divert water n shit to force people out of business and such 1/2
