People played MShep?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Played good Mshep and bad Mshep. And only bad femshep. I enjoyed bad femshep voice acting a lot more.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whoever made this is just trying to get a rise out of people because a lot of it is misleading or just wrong

6 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 6

Welcome to Imgur, where fact takes a backseat to faux outrage

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

When it comes to EA the only fact that matters is they destroy everything they touch. OP may have been misleading but the message is true.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

If its True you don’t need lies or false facts, you need the truth. That will show more than just lying to prove a point.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's also possible op was mistaken, not lying.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Could be but it’s still misinformation even if the intentions were good, in the end it will do more bad than good.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

All the weapons in Apex are unlocked from the start. It's the cosmetics you can unlock and it's totally ok to play without them.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My biggest thing is buying developers just to shut them down

6 years ago | Likes 500 Dislikes 3

That's what happens when you can no longer compete, but are sitting on mountains of cash

6 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 1

Agreed, GM is bad about that too.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

I was insanely pissed when they had the nutsack to name their online store "Origin."

6 years ago | Likes 135 Dislikes 1

“We create worlds.” :( *cries in 1990’s* I dearly miss that game development style. Substance over style. Crossing fingers for CP2077

6 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

There's around 3 guys from Origin working on a little game called StarCitizen... Might be something when you're done with CP2077

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

ROFL ouch! Low blow, ha ha :) Ok, ok, I get it, there IS a thing as too much substance, then, LOL

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But seriously it is taking shape and and fairly playable if you’re okay with instability of alpha. If/when it IS done, it’ll be pretty great

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My dude, that game will not be released before 2077

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Well of course, 2077 comes out next year :P Starcitizen's single player might actually finally launch the year after though... 6 years late

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're on my boycott list along with other things

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

ME: Andromeda was basically starved for any quality developers to work on it. The studio was green, they transferred the 3D models to the >

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

Where anthem more or less were biowares own fault really, massive leadership issues and what not

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

new engine badly, and it was pretty obvious from the lackluster release that from the start they’d wanted to focus on other game properties.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

The Montreal team was a cluster fuck and Edmonton had to send what few people they had left just to get the project done.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The apex one is misleading tho. You dont unlock the weapon. You unlock the skins. All gamesplay is 100% free from the start.

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Which is fine but their monetization of cosmetics has been laughably, hilariously, absurd from day 1 and it's killing the game.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's a flat out lie - do people really think EA laid out the millions in development costs and then never asked a single question?

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Seeing this made me hurt inside.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Spore could have been great. The creation modes were fun, but the gameplay suffered tremendously.

6 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

If Spore stuck to its original plan, I firmly believe it would have been the greatest game of all time.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Counter argument: Spore could never be what they initially promised, it pulled a Molyneux and was always going to fall far short of the plan

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I still remember the old Spore videos. That would have been *fucking amazing*!

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Maybe not as it was hyped, but I still enjoy Spore up until space. Then it's a snoozer due to constant going in circles.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I personally really like Spore, I still go back a play it sometimes to this day.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

SimCity 2000 > any other version.

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I dunno, SimCIty on the SNES was the shit.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey Sim safari was the shit!!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sim farm too, sim earth for some reasons didn't work in my computer back then, wondering could I install it to my current one.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved Simtower

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still fire up my modded-to-all-hell SimCity 4 here and there. Good times.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I still miss SimAnt. I even call my testing worlds on games like Minecraft "Experimental" to this day because of it.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Have you tried Empires of the undergrowth? Pretty fun

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SimEarth was a good time as well.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sure was! Still wish there was a version that actually worked right on modern computers.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sim Tower also

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My heart hurts. EA truly ruins everything. On the plus side, I still own The Sims 2, which was the last time it was good.

6 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 2

I'd argue 3 was better, and 4 is slowly becoming worth it

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I really love playing the sims 4. The only thing i dont like is the fact that a lot of their recent pack created a lot of bug in th game...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And it takes forever to fix them

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's what I've heard - I hadn't played in months, picked back up last week after getting Island Living and I haven't noticed anything yet

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

shame nobody has like £1000 to drop on DLCs and expansions in order to get stuff that was once in the base game

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

And even on sale the DLCs are pretty expensive! EA is a shame...

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Respawn (the company behind Apex Legends) kinda deserves shit, the project lead is a dick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adqjzrrL8BU

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Respawn can't be considered the same company that made Titanfall 1 and 2. It has gone rapidly downhill since EA.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Respawn is and has always been with EA.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nothing ruins joy like a corporation.

6 years ago | Likes 258 Dislikes 11

Capcom has been pretty reliable over the years. I still have my grievances but it's a drop in the bucket compared to EA.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Communists tend to beat them at this.

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 22

I like how you're getting downvoted. Looks like people haven't studied their history.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"But like that wasn't _real_ communism, yknow?"

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So a communist corporation would be a living nightmare? Do they just take your money by force and give you the product? Hmm...

6 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 2

You can blame the sports-bros for that one, brah.

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

I agree. Until a better alternative comes for FIFA games, ppl will still buy EA games.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Rocket League? Actually going out and kicking a ball on a pitch??

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends how you look at it. There stock has gone down 30% in one year.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

From a monster record peak. Big picture: $70 peak, 2005. $10 slump, 2012. $140-something record peak 2018. $80 start of 2019. Currently $90.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Imagine if you bought 1,000 shares when they crumpled. Apart from feeling a little filthy profiting from all this.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And up again

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They are not "loot boxes," they are "surprise mechanics"

6 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 2

I still can't handle how they had the balls to say that with a straight face.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This same shit has spread here... BF is in a good place atm, only obe who came late to series whines about it. Us oldies like BF again.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

BFV felt to me like bf2 and bfb bad company, it’s way better than people give it credit.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It is a step back to what BF used to be. Young ppl don't know how great BF used to be. And the cries for modern. Best modern was P4F (or2).

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah I grew up with BF 2 and bc2 was my main game for a long time, BFV gives that feel again. I liked bf3 and 4 but they missed something

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Been a loyal fan of Mass Effect & Dragon Age. Heck I grew up with them. To let them go now is painful but necessary.

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

And when the narrative could be damn good on the next sequel (dread wolf arc)

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I stopped buying their Games after they messed up Dragon Age 2 so bad.

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

Same. “Button...Awesome”.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Tbh dragon age inquisition is a great game. Surely not as good as origins but still a solid 85/100 imho.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

DA:I was only good if you had all the dlcs. The first playthrough w/o dlc was ok but it was too easy and class upgrade came too late.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I prefer two. Inquisition get like playing an mmo, where I have to grind and be just the perfect level to do anything.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why? Is a game with like three different maps not fancy enough for your refined tastes? Because that seems reasonable.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Enemies that fall from the sky in hordes. Forced protagonist. Power Ranger fighting Mages. The list goes on and on...

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I enjoyed it as a "interactive movie" played on Easy with a generic ass fighter character, however I also got it for free through seafaring.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not sure if sarcasm or not

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No sarcasm. That game had a ton of flaws. But for some reason the constant map recycling pissed me off the most.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

And some wankstain here thinks it’s worth defending. Maybe it’s the possibility of romancing a dwarf.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

IMO Dragon Age 2's biggest flaw was almost everything happened in the 1 city and dungeons reused the same map 90% of the time

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It just ties back back into my agreement with your second complaint. They just did not have enough development power on assets and it shows.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I definitely agree with the 2nd part, but not the first. The narrative focus on Kirkwall was a risk, and narratively I feel a successful -

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Especially with the time jumps, which were good, we should've seen the city change, seasonally it not from the sheer change in the story 3/3

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But they needed to really punch it up artwise to match. Needed to be more of the city to see, more art assets, more diversity, 2/3

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And they killed “Dead Space.”

6 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 5

Actually. Dead space was always planned to become what it did. Developing from Horror to Action

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 6

The ol' RE shuffle

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Slowly building up to Chris Redfield just shrugging when he watches Wesker turn into a giant hentai monster for the 58683rd time

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Just like RE. Character isnt just going to keep being terrified of shit for years and years

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The main character started off scared but slowly became used to it and thus the lack of Horror in 3. That was the developers plan all along

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 5

I personally preferred the Horror, but it wasn't EA who did anything wrong this time

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 6

It was pitched as a survival game, not an action one.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

https://youtu.be/JiQiF9Wt2lM Eurogamer had an interview with their creative director. Co-op was shoved in. Psychological horror tossed out.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're forgetting that Dead Space 3 also had micro transactions from the start and weapon crafting with grindy elements. Not too bad, though

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

EA Executive: "Act like you approve of our bullshit or we'll fire you."

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would trust this if EA didnt have a constant habit of constantly taking popular niche genre games & commercialising them for mass appeal

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

That's the thing. They did. I 100% agree they used to straight up milk stuff. FIFA is the worst. But things like no more battlefield premium

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This "analysis" was made after the fact to excuse what they had done to dead space. Which they did to many other games. Cash cow it to death

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

I laughed at "lack of Polish in WW1", sad me.

6 years ago | Likes 1462 Dislikes 8

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

BFV map Rotterdam the Dutch got replaced by British... wut?

Wrong war.

6 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 1

He was there.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, technically...

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The polish were on his side in WWI. Much of Poland was split between the Austro-hungarian and German empires.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And the Russians!Don't forget they also served under the Russians: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_Armed_Forces_in_the_East_(1914%E2%

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its still my meme.

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

It's*

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Get fucked. If you need an apostrophe, you might need something else.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shhh, don't talk about the war. I did once, but I think I got away with it.

6 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

You started it.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, I didn't.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey everyone, he said "war". GET HIM!!!!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

BF5 is set in WWII, but it does lack American and Japanese troops, for now. https://youtu.be/zVy9_DyIosQ?t=94

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I swear Battlefield 5 is literally just Brits vs Germans, with no Italians, Soviets, French, Japanese or American maps, soldier,or vehicles

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No need to swear. It is.USA and Japan are coming this fall tho

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe they're overcompensationg for when they put Americans in BFI, but French and Russians were DLC.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

That's ridiculous. The French and Russians should've been in the game from day 1, with the USA coming in later as DLC.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That way it'd be historically accurate.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It should. Unfortunately Americans buy more video games than French and Russians combined. So they chose to make WWI more about America.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Pretty sure there was also a lack of cyborg females in WWII, but that didn't stop them.

6 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 3

There was also a lack of automatic weapons in WW1, but anachronisms happen to make gameplay more appealing. Unfortunately EA tends to forget

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

that you have to have the enjoyable mechanics before you add anachronisms sooo

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Yeah, remember that from the trailer. What was the justification?!

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Being inclusive I think, the developer favoured giving everyone a chance to recognize themselves in-game over exact realism.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

And the prosthetic was simply a case of people not knowing the timeline of prosthesis development. It’s not like the game avoids using

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Experimental or rare gear anywhere else.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

BFV isn't WWII, it's a vaguely WWII-ish Dieselpunk fantasy world.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And Einstein never time travelled past to kill Hitler, but that doesn't mean Command & Conquers weren't good games.

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 4

I wonder if it vill be raining.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But in C&C we knew from the start it's alt time line. It wasn't advertised as "realistic".

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why would Einstein time-travel to kill Hitler anyway? They lived in the same era. Einstein flew from germany to the us because of hitler.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because during war Einstein couldn't do anything, but after war he invented time machine, went back in time and killed hitler to prevent WW2

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But war still started, but this time allied vs soviet.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is a little misleading

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Have you ever played apex? You don’t pay for weapons. You pay for the skins.

6 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 3

Very true, but skins are also 100% cosmetic and not necessary, it’s a bit different than paying for things that actually improve your game

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Yeah it doesn’t belong in this list. Stating it “requires $170 to unlock all the guns” is 100% false. EA has fucked up a lot, but 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

whoever created this meme is too high on the rage culture train. Yes, loot boxes and EA need to fix some things, but I’ll decide omo thx 2/2

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which you don't need. You can fully enjoy the game for free.

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 5

Am i wrong, cant you get lootboxes or skins from playing some? I know if you pick up someone elses weapon n its skinned it works

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah, that point made the entire thing lose credibility. Like if you're lying about that what else are you lying about?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Anthem was mostly Bioware's fault. They kept flip floping on what they were trying to make; took flying out and put it back it constantly

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only a small amount or so too. Once you hit a certain level, unless you buy the battle pass, no more loot boxes for you

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't forget they added unskippable ads to a 60 dollar game that already had microtransactions. NBA 2K19, look it up.

6 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 14

Fuck are you talking about. NBA 2K19 is published by 2K Games. EA had nothing to do with NBA 2K19 at all. EA's NBA game is NBA Live 19.

6 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Ah, you are correct. My bad, I thought EA Sports had exclusive rights to the NBA brand in video games.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

No, just all the other awful shit focused entirely on selling FUT and MUT packs to children.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

“2K Games publishes 2K19, not EA, who publish the awful NBA live series” - less angry person

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

I dunno if i should feel sad for Apex Legends after that Dev vs Players fiasco at Reddit

6 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 3

With all of the examples in the picture, is it any surprise that gamers can't see EA and their studios as anything *but* greedy villains?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Source?

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It’s all over google right now, first hit when you search for Apex Legends.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

To be fair, the gaming player base is full of vocal entitled dickheads who should be ignored by devs. It's a tough line to walk.

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 4

Being a dev these days is like working retail and the modern gamer is a Karen. Imgur supports retail workers but no love for devs.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anthem wasnt just EAs fault, bioware had a time frame of a few years but only started working on it about a year before.

6 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 4

Because of EA. In fact that whole E3 demo was 100% fake to appease the EA CEO!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

You mean they realized that, after so many years and so much money, they had to show they were actually doing something or lose said funding

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

? Man, damn that EA. Having deadlines and expectations. They should just pay these companies to dick around indefinitely. A side note: any

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

One else remember Silicon Knights?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Angry Joe does a good job of telling what happened. https://youtu.be/kUopKcRLNGA

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anthem was a colossal clusterfuck in every way one could imagine. It truly deserves the acronym FUBAR

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Not to mention BioWare chose the frostbite engine. Not EA.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

BioWare said they were basically coerced into using it because EA wanted all studios on it and wouldn't support them otherwise.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

People don't want to admit that Bioware is a self-created garbage fire these days. They'd rather pretend it's all EA's fault.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, the good ol' "BioWare Magic"

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They didnt even have any idea what to do with the game until after the trailer sinc bioware didnt even make the trailer.

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

That's not completely true. There were several issues during development that caused them to have to start almost fresh. Hence shit game.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Internal issues* still chalk it up to being more biowares fault than EA because of their constant bickering between divisions.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah pretty much had 2 groups within one company. Old guard Bioware wanted a different game to New Guard. So it was a mix of 2 ideas

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

OP also forgot that Anthems "loot system" was a "test" and rewarded people differently depending on playing habits to keep people playing

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It wouldnt suprise me that that was what EA wanted.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I understand the hate for EA, but at least for Apex it's misleading. All weapons are unlocked. It's the cosmetics only. It's free to play

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

@op

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

A lot of this is misleading.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unpopular opinion: they should charge whatever they want for cosmetic items that don’t affect gameplay. Your fault if you buy it.

6 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 4

True. Also, they can actually charge whatever they want for anything they make and own. Don't like it? Go and make your own game.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Except in the case of Madden and FIFA they charge for loot boxes to unlock actual gameplay and content I.E - players to be used in online.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

If I could just buy whatever cosmetics I wanted for a set price, I'd agree. But when they start fucking around with loot boxes, fuck that.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

In a Free to Play game, sure, but if i already paid in, then no, i should not being having content dangled infront of me (1/2)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Doesn't matter if its cosmetic, they made it, they want to pressure you into buying it, which is Fine, as the 'pay in' for a F2P game. (2/2)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Plus most of this stuff they charge were things you used to actually get in game, your know rewards for actually playing the game.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Apex one is a flat-out lie - They just agreed to a post-launch marketing strategy. They knew what was being developed 100% of the time.

6 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

And you can actually play an unlock most everything for free if not through events. Don't actually have to spend money on the game.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I mean, seriously, do y'all think they just handed over the money and went "Well, hope you're doing something good!" Don't be fucking daft.

They did with anthem lol

What a tragedy anthem was

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not even weapons, so this is doubly misleading. Yeah, they're pretty expensive skins but I dont get why people get so mad about cosmetics

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I get that it's f2p and just cosmetics, but the price point is absurd. It sets a dangerous precedent for full price games and pay to win.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

True, but you can just not pay for a skin, and I am a developer.. that shit is just cosmetics.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And you also shouldn't have to pay that much to make your character look the way you want. Gamers love customization and this price point is

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ridiculous. I'm all for F2P having some microtransactions, but this is getting way out of hand.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How does a F2P game with cosmetic only skins set a precedent for full price games and pay to win? Does Team Fortress 2 do the same?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If you don't think that EA is using this to test the waters for full priced games, then you haven't been laying attention.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

TF2 came out a long time ago. F2P games with microtransactions aren't inherently bad, but this is over the top.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

More on apex. The heirloom would cost aprox $1700 to unlock. Sure you can get the boxes for 700, but thats not 100% chance you get it

6 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 15

Wow, ok. This does Apex just as much justice as the post. The heirloom is cosmetic and does absolutely nothing and at most you would /1

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Have to spend $203 to unlock all of the items at one point. All cosmetic. All almost not worth it. /end

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Apex had a shitshow QA on reddit a day or so ago. One of the team members went and called the commenters asshats and dicks. Not entirely 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

uncalled for since the community is toxic, but damn. That won't be forgotten soon, and might hurt what EA cares about most, bottom line. 2/2

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

To be a bit fair they called the players freeloaders.. and kinda came at them with hostility. Never come to an upset/rowdy mob with shit..

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

EA isn't allowed by law to sell lootboxes here anymore :) I like that a lot.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

MORE on apex. They recently apologised by letting people buy the items directly... but only half of them...at a higher cost.

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

2.5x the cost to be precise

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Let us apologize by making an offer which double downs on what pissed you off"

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

EA sounding like politicians

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They post the same copy paste response every time shit happens "we have learnt to be better form this. blah blah blah."

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And their community manager is going absolutely apeshit on Reddit. The new trend is apparently to sell games while shitting on gamers.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I believe Bloodhounds heirloom will enter normal pack rotation after iron crown is over? Then it’s the regular 1/500 odds of getting it

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Could cost that much on average based on one YouTuber's experience.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All that is cosmetics, none of it is going to help you win

6 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 5

Yep. Never bought a skin in any game, never will.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doesn't matter, we want it, but $170? You gotta be shitting me. If it's cosmetics, why does it cost money?

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 11

Because the game is free. And it costs money to maintain servers and pay programmers.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Because the game is f2p?

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

The amount of people defending a $170 item in a game is ridiculous. That's more than the price of two new release AAA games for a cosmetic

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Because 1 person buying that has to pay for the 100 that wont spend a penny? thats literally the business model ffs, what do people want

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Reasonably priced microtransaction that don't cost more than two full priced AAA games? Like every other successful f2p game on the market?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I understand f2p games need alternate ways of making money, but it has been proven multiple times that this is not the way to do it

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Okay I hate the event as much as you, but you made a typo and we have to address it. $170, not $1700. Still outrageous.

6 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 2

But still cheaper than the kunai, if you have bad luck...

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Also the img says that the money is for unlocking guns, when really it's only skins, the event is still aides, but not THAT aides

6 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

Also, no money is needed at all. And then there's people who pay for alpha access, but no way that's bad in any way.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

That makes it way better! What's wrong with buying skins?? The picture made me think it was pay2win

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

From what I've been reading, the controversy is you have to first unlock all 24 of the event skins to unlock the option to buy a special 1/3

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

25th skin for $35. The event only gives you two free loot boxes, but the remaining 22 have to be purchased, so it effectively makes one 2/3

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

them being locked behind lootboxes with no direct purchasing was a problem IMO, but its no longer a thing, and people are still complaining

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The direct purchase is half of the event's skins and they cost 2.5x as much as lootboxes, so if you want the heirloom, still need boxes.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On top of that, even after you get all 24 of the event epics/legendaries, you've only unlocked the option to BUY the heirloom.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also they are just cosmetics they dont help you in any way whatsoever

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

Excpet Cosmetics/looking 'awesome' is the real endgame of most games.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah it's not "get all the guns" it's get all the cosmetics. I've spent very little on that game.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

This is still a horrible business practice to support and will keep popping up in future games if people invest in micro transactions.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it’s great. I get the game for free and don’t need to pay any money. If you want cosmetics, go ahead.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m not arguing that point. I’m saying that games won’t be getting any better because companies know they can just cash in with casino boxes

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used to think that. But I've started to see the predatory nature behind 'just cosmetics' stuff when it's tied to an event or in boxes. No.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This "it's only cosmetics" line is what in the end got us into this mess. Accept a minor intrusion, most will accept the next major one.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I'm only fine with it if it's for purchasing packs that are reasonably priced or for specific items. No RNG, no timed events. Low prices.
