Before Pic - Battle Stations are never really done, are they? I had left this empty space in the middle of the wall for an idea that I never actually though I'd try to pull off.

After Pic - The empty space isn't so empty anymore. I sunk my PC into the wall.

Standard piece of MDF, cut down to leave an inch around my motherboard. Hole cut for rear chipset mounts.

Screws with screw holes, these will go into the MDF to give the motherboard spacers something to screw into.

Motherboard spacers

Spacers in place

Everything lines up

Gotta have the sweet, sweet RGBW

First coat of primer on the back plate

Paint

Sand

Repeat

Starting the back box - Didn't take any pictures of this, it's a plywood box

POOF! Box done, sanded, filled and painted

Test fitting of the back plate in the box for the first time. Also the RGBWs are in place and the copper tape for grounding is in place.

Test motherboard is mounted to the back plate ...

... and fit into the box

Booyakasha!

Jump forward a week and... Hey, theres a hole in the wall. Hello from the other side. I had to move some electrical down and then I framed this in to reinforce the wall. 2x4 fillers at the top and bottom to give a place for the box to mount to.

The old case, it's about 20 years old. it still held computer parts. That's about all it did.

I think this will be better.

Let's see if that hole in the wall is the right size. Shall we?

Test fit in the wall, with lights and fully functional.

Let's get everything back on the wall.

Closer

Much better.

Time jump and everything is back off the wall for mud and paint.

and mud

and paint

and done

Sick

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY ARE YOUR SPEAKERS NOT SYMMETRIC

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because Yahama sucks at considering what their speakers look like with the grills off. The mount doesn't allow for it.

I like how you interpreted the usb and the power buttons in wall mount boxes. But where’s the power supply and ssd?

on the back side, out of sight out of mind. They're just sitting on a shelf off the bottom of the box
