My wife has been having some trouble finding a job and has been getting increasingly down about it recently, so I posted this to my city's subreddit a few days ago. I know it's kind of corny and probably closing in on Dad joke territory, but I wrote it in earnest and my wife really is the fuchkin best.
Anyway, this was the response:
Am I seriously out of touch with what is cringeworthy, or is dude just an asshole? Maybe this just isn't the subreddit for me? Am I actually lame?
I realize I shouldn't be having a crisis about something of this caliber, but something about it is pissing me off so hard.
It just really sets me off when people shit on positivity for the sake of seeming above it or something.

Yeah I’d call it cringe. I don’t have much tolerance for people though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Mostly not cringey but you took it a little far at points so kinda cringey

I think it's a bit over the top - but if that is your style, it's your style. The first 3 and the last 3 would be enough IMHO.

with anyone who had anything close to that attitude towards a man praising his wife. He's a moron, never mind him. 3/3

Haha, fair. Maybe I just don't have the fortitude for this shit any more. I value your opinion too, Rando.

15+ years on the internet taught me valuable lessons, I can only hope to pass them on :P
