His name has been "Dogmeat" since Fallout 1 - even if it's not the same dog, it's the same dog.

His name is revealed by Mama Murphy or later in the game. Fallout 1, 2, 3, and 4 all have a "Dogmeat" dog companion.

Depends on what weapon. There’s on gatalang laser that truly has infinite ammo you get from killing a guy in the arena.
