Trying to make sure my leg doesn't shorten after shattering my femur. Screws in my knee with weights pulling it.

Nice rack. https://imgur.com/sPwgpLj

that must feel not awesome

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Feel better soon. Ms. Glass. I hope that is not as painful as it looks or at least you're getting enough drugs.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As an RN, this actually keeps the bone aligned, which reduces muscle spasms (super painful) until surgery can permanently fix it. Works well

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuck that. Insert the ti rod, get on with life. Still, sending you some Kung fu vibes for healing.......

+1 for title

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did the same when I was a kid. Was playing hockey 4 months later.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think they are pulling your leg

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It took me about 5 seconds to realize the mechanics of what was happening. Now I'm cringing *a lot*.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How long do you have to be in traction? That looks "I-hope-you-get-the-good-drugs" painful.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh man

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Invincible is an under rated film. Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson nailed their roles

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Unbreakable.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cock, yeah ur right. Shit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think the doctors were just pulling your leg.

My reaction exactly!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I twitch like that (sometimes more dramatic) when cold and have convinced people I'm possessed because of it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did it about once a month in school, and always got weird looks for it. I would kick my desk with a loud bang

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh wow! I forgot that Sweets was in Waiting as well as Freaks and Geeks. Rewatching it recently. His face never changed as he aged lol

I thought this would be a post about life with Osteogenesis imperfecta. Shouldn't jump to conclusions, I suppose.

Transporting a patient in traction. Accidentally hit the brake lock. Patient screams in agony as weight swings back and forth. Sorry bro...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Oh god that sounds horrific.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Kid was a CPS surrender so at least his parents were not there to berate me... poor kid.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I love that dank Unbreakable reference!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're the villain in Unbreakable.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This legs are very butifull

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That was me in 1977. Different leg, same type of traction. My left leg is still 1" shorter than right. back problems now. Good luck

All those people on that train...

Once took a class on wilderness medicine and we had to learn how to fix a broken femur in the wilderness. It involved pulling the leg like ^

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They had to pull it straight in the ambulance because it was S shaped, it was great.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

reminds me of a video I saw of some guys wiggling another guys broken arms. It was from a prison, and they were just torturing the poor soul

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah thats painful. Broken femur is one of the most painful bones to break.

Holy crap, THIS.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you for perfectly expressing my reaction.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

When I was in traction, someone somehow left a stool under the weights, so the break started to grind together, THEN the weight again.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now google "femur replacement".

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Buy why would I want to do that?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So you can do this:

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was in traction too. Broken femur due to cancer. Just snapped in half one day. You find out what kind of a person you really are!

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Mine broke into three pieces for no reason, they thought it was cancer until i got an MRI and they couldn't find anything

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I hope they sent some bone off to a pathologist to be tested.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So what was the cause?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yikes!! :( What were you doing when it broke? That's scary.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Personal time

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

@op,what did you dooooooo?!?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doctors said it was a freak accident, just lifting someone up and it shattered.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oof! Good luck on your road to recovery...sending positive thoughts your way!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lifting what? A forklift? A standard femur has a density somewhere north of concrete, if I remember correctly.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A pretty normal 15 year old girl actually haha

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I trust you're getting your bone density checked..

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I... I can't wrap my head around this. There's something missing. Like a wreck at 2am with no drunks present, there's something missing.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You may want to see a bone doctor after this. It could be a much bigger problem as you age.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Happened to my brother. Now he has a rod in his femur. You'll be just fine. Get well soon!!!

8 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 0

This happened to me when I was seven. Hit by a car, had to spend two weeks in traction

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Happened to me two years ago!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same thing happened to my brother. Had three screws run through it. Wasn't a full break at least, but damn if it didn't look painful

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I got a rod and pins put in too

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

My brother got hit by a drunk dirt bike rider...scariest camping trip of my life...my dad almost beat that asshole to death...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You'll limp for close to a year. I've had my rod in for 4 years now. Hardly any limp and no pain at all.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. Fell out of a tree 4 years ago. I wish I could say I was an acceptable age for this to happen.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

how old?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

24

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey! I had this when I had the ball of my femur pushed through the back of my pelvis.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*horrifically unmanly shrieking noises*

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah ... Was good times! I highly recommend it!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How's about we don't and say we didn't? By the by, how did you pull that off?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Car accident, dash collapsed in on my knee and the pelvis gave way before the steel.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do I even wanna know how

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Car accident, dash collapsed and pushed at my knee, pelvis gave way.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No bueno. Sorry that happened - hope you're all healed up now!
