I typically draw one-line drawings. As an artist, it would mean the world to me if you took a look at my Instagram page to glance at my other pieces of work. https://www.instagram.com/tfoust10/ . If you go there, all your wildest dreams will come true (hopefully).

I also make numbered prints in my Etsy shop. Don't feel obligated but please check it out if you are into very niche artists and unique style.

Fountain pen? Which ink is that?

That is cool as shit, nicely done. I sometimes like to doodle topological-looking patterns, but I don't have any examples to share.

I joke. You should doodle historic versions too. And put them on eBay

oh my gosh! I remember seeing your stuff here around 2020/2021... super cool to see you're still active :)

As a Dane, I approve of any world map rendition that remembers to include that little polyp on top of Germany.

Almost looks like mandelbrot of the Earth

Um, New Zealand is an imaginary place, it's really not a real place, also you forgot stewart island, but not because it's real or anything.

No worries! On the more philosophical side of mapmaking: by definition every map is ‘wrong’ in the way that it is a simplified version of reality. But most of all, there are many ways to ‘do wrong’ with maps, in ways people don’t always realize (eg the central place of Europe in so many world maps, or the implications of an online map provider of changing a gulfs name)…
What I’m trying to say is: thank you for representing a map for the beautiful thing that it is. No politics, just enjoyment.

Thanks, I'm happy with how it turned out.

Wow. How did you do that? How do I use it?

I did it in GIMP. You can use the *Map To Object" filter to map an image onto a sphere, and you just change it's rotation for each frame.

So I can turn anything that is flat into a globe? 👀

2 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Yep. You'll want the starting image to be square, and you have to account for stretching of horizontal dimensions.

You did it IN a Gimp?..
