I do the same repetitive motion similarly bout twice a day and I bet I have more fun. I also shout “Jackpot” at the payout.

HATED THAT one soooo much. Especially the old PS2 keyboards that the mb couldn't find a driver for on post.

How much money are they spending? Im such a cheapskate that when i play slots i count to 10 between pressing the button to force myself to stretch out my pennies

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Responsible gaming habits right there! Counting to 10 might just be the secret to a longer gaming session

Addictions usually are.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's a slot tournament - they're not just leisurely playing. You have only a certain amount of time, and the highest money total at the end wins the pot. They can either pay to get in or sometimes you can win a spot in other ways. Not sure why you think it sad because I'm pretty sure they traveled to be there and, at their age, they've earned the right to do what they want with their money. Someone in that row might win as much as 5 - 10K depending on the tournament.

Which reminds me after you're done setting up the bios and imaging the laptop, don't forget to bitlocker it. Lol

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly, that's a good fiscal idea. Blockchain the slot machines all together. Then you're collecting on both the gambling and the btc generation without much extra cost applied.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

so make them even more wasteful in energy consumption, great idea

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But don't actually do block chain shit. Just say you are.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Those slot machines will be chained to a block of iron. I don't want them old fogies to walk off with the shiny light machine! Those kleptos will steal the last bolt of the buffet tables keeping them on the ground.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is a slot tournament where you get a few minutes to win as much as possible and then get prizes based on how you compare to others so obviously the more you manage to play the better.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

You are correct - not sure why the downvotes. I guess it's a slow news day on Imgur and people haven't, yet, found out what they want to be mad about....

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I remember doing this in the 90s

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hell, I did this last week.

Laughs in millennial video gamer, same dopamine, "different" source.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

My dopamine source costs less than $1/hr. Some games less than a penny per hour even.

Sure. And you don’t lost hundreds of dollars a minute

they call this 'fun'. Can't see it myself.

This honestly looks very, very sad.

Imagine voluntarily making your life's purpose being the run key for what amounts to a random number generator. God, these people have less agency in this situation than a line of fucking code. Fucking footage of dogs sifting through the ruins of the WTC on 9/11 is less depressing than this.

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

It’s a slot tournament. Only a few people actually have fun, really. The sound of the buttons clacking grates on your nerves after the first few times you run one.

1 year ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

There are *tournaments*?? 😳
Horrible idea, next idea for Olympics?
Someone with Parkinson could go for gold then /s
I'll show myself out...

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Seems as much a tournament as the Powerball is.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Pachinko is even worse. Stepped inside a parlor briefly when I visited Japan, and felt like I was going to get hearing damage.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This is very, VERY common in smaller casinos that draw the older, local crowd. Former cage cashier who used to watch it 8hrs a night, 5 days a week.

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Bless your soul! I’m in Database Marketing and often soldiered out amongst the crowds to study the demographics involved.

The attendees were primarily budget players looking for more bang for their buck. Many of them hated doing it, but did so on the off chance they could win a little and extend their play time.

Besides, many of them had little better to do with their time.

I can’t even go to a casino anymore. It feels like I’m at work. It’s lost its glitz for me.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I have never worked in a casino but I still don't feel any glamour when I walk into one. Like oh boy, the smell of unhealthy people, the overpriced meals, the soulless eyes staring at slot machine screens... If they are trying to sell me on the concept of an exciting life, they have to try a fuckload harder.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The smaller casinos are the worst. Because they prey on those people spending pennies to try to win. I hated working there, but it was literally the only place that wasn't walmart or dollar general.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Christ this is depressing. We have become so good at exploiting and monetizing our brainstem triggers. Humanity is doomed.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The elderly make a day out of it. There's usually a bus that takes a group, then they go to the slots to party, they eat at the buffet @ 4, party some more, and then head home. Being old is lonely and boring. They're having a blast right now.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Indeed. How depressing.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Come back when you are elderly and see what you think of the day

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

I appreciate the offer. I will have to politely decline, gambling is just too stupid.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You're missing the point. It's not about the gambling, it's about the loneliness of aging.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is a slot tournament where it’s free credit for a limited time and who ever has the highest total wins at the pool money you paid to join. Not as sad as it looks

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Ok boomer

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

F10 maybe F1 maybe F12 just hit all of them as fast as you can and home you don't see the OS boot screen

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Left index finger on F2, right on Del, both of them going rapidly.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Delete for most diy builds and dell

F2 for dell
F8, F10, F12 for others 🤷‍♂️

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just drag your finger across the F keys and it'll do something...

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is the way. Usually just the two ends. If esc/f1 does nothing, it’s f5-f13 or delete

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SIKE! It's a Lenovo you gotta press "Enter" you absolute IDIOT 1010101

HPs use Esc to bring up the menu for selecting the setup. Also use esc to leave that menu...

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

LOL that's a special kind of evil I would only expect from a piece of shit company like HP

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Note, it's HP, not HPE, the servers from HPE do have separate options on different keys.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The worst is when it's ESC to get to the boot menu, but ESC also leaves the boot menu. So you spam the key a bit slower, hoping you're fast enough to catch it but slow enough to not exit out of it.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Say you have a HP with out saying you have a HP...

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Holy hell, I've never had that, esc was for exit, but you still also had to hit Y or N to save

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's in the bios, HPs use esc to bring up a menu to select diags/bootmenu/setup, and esc leaves that menu

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ah, the only HP I ever had ran win 3.1
