Hey there fellow players! Anyone have experience with Roll20 for D&D, 5e specifically, and care to share your knowledge? I'm trying to hop on over from just using Theater of the Mind and Discord with friends. I really need a crash course. I'm at a loss, and don't have much time to scour the Youtubes for videos that might not even help. Thanks in advanced!

You can use this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svG0RmIGBPU but roll20 has a lot of pay-walls. Gonna need https://5etools.com/

None of those words made sense to me in the order they appeared.

I've been using roll20 for going on 5 years as a dm without a break every week. I dont know EVERYTHING, but I know a lot. DM if needed

If you have time to dedicate to D&D, you have time to make this part of session 0 and explore the Roll20 tools with your group.

Roll20 is a terribly optimized site (but it's popular), so just take the time to try stuff out if you're going to commit to using it.

It's actually not a session 0. We're mid-campaign and I'd like to have the transition as smooth as possible, instead of having it choppy

Then you need to schedule a second session 0. If a big change is happening, then slow down and it will go smoothly. Rush and you'll trip.
