A hunter shot 2 family pet pigs

The hunter asked permission to hunt on the property by leaving a voicemail. The family tried to call him back to deny permission and couldn't reach him

The hunter, thinking they were wild boar, walked right up to them and shot them point blank.

Hobby farmers sent 2 new piglets to the devastated couple. The hunter was never charged as he didn't break any law except tresspassing

Most Viral Edit: Thanks for the updoots! I hated posting this because it broke my heart. There is a happy-ish ending sort of at least. I'd like to see a law created to place more due diligence on the hunters. Don't send nudes. My wife will kill me.

Can I live in your house and screw your wife? If you don’t respond in 30 seconds the house and wife are mine!!

So... this guy shouldn't be allowed to hunt anymore because he's a fucking idiot!

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Guy they met at Farmers Market called and asked perm to kill what he thought were wild boar on their prop and did so before getting the ok

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

Letting off rounds on someone else’s property without a confirmed ok sounds like a fast way to get shot..

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 4

Non-hunter from a mostly wild boar-free country. Even I can tell the difference.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's not how fucking consent works

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

There's no law against shooting someone's pets? What? Really?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sue the fuck out of him.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How did he not break any laws? He shot someone else's animals while illegally on their property.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You don't walk up to wild boar. He knew what he was doing.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thinks they are wild boar.... walks up to them to shoot point blank. Fucking idiot

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Just gonna put this out there. No one accidentally goes shooting peoples pets in places with a castle doctrine. You know that shooting

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

at someone's house grants them full legal right to shoot back... you aren't going to fucking do it.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If he knew the couple well enough to leave a voicemail, wouldn’t he know they have pet pigs? I’m confused...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also, it says they were shot point blank feet from the home. That is at A MINIMUM reckless endangerment.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I forget the exact distance, but there's minimal distance for legal hunting around residences which this is waaaaaay under.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What wild boar wears a tutu?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Talented ones!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Okay how the fuck it not against the law to just go to someones property and kill their pets?

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 3

Cops do it all the time. Maybe this guy was pretending to be one.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

must be legal. cops do it all the time.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This happened in Canada so maybe things are different, but trespassing in rural areas of the US is a great way to get shot at.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Depends strongly on what part of Canada. Rural (esp. northern) Ontario or Alberta, still likely. Rural BC, you'll run into a grow-op first.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which will get you shot at...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Non hunter here asking what wild boar would let you walk up to them and shoot them at point blank range? I believe the answer is none.

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 1

Honestly, he should of known. It’s so obvious that I feel as though he knew but didn’t care

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Ask Marshawn Lynch amd Bear Gryllz

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Even a non-hunter know better for crying out loud. There are hunters, and there are idiots who hunt. Big difference

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

hunters and huntards

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hunter here. You do not even APPROACH wild pigs they'll fuck you up for breathing the same air as them.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So, what I think I'm hearing is, you don't approach them, but they will approach the shit out of you. Got it! Thanks.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even if you're on horseback! Wild pig don't care, wild pig got things to eat. Like you and your horse.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You would be correct.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Can we stop calling them a hunter please? This person is a complete idiot. As a hunter, they don't deserve to be called a hunter.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My aunt's had two dogs shot on her property that backs up to state land by people who thought they were deer. Some people shouldn't hunt.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

MANY people have no business even touching a gun. They ruin any chance of getting permission from landowners etc etc

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Christ... Dumb fuckers shoot whatever moves. If you can't tell what it is and what sex it is don't feckin shoot it!

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Without more details, that's a very different story than this one. Dogs could be mistaken at a distance

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 15

So you're saying it's easier to mistake a dog for a deer than a pig for a different kind of pig? Are you an idiot or just spoke without thin

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Answer: idiot/fool/moron

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

NO IT’s NOT!!!!!! you don’t shoot unless you’re positive! I can identify a duck flying at 300 yards easy , a dog or a deer??? Please

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

How big were the dogs, because when hunting, you can't shoot if they're too small

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

What kind of fucking person just decides "ah, well, I left a voicemail asking for permission so that's definitely the same thing as being

8 years ago | Likes 146 Dislikes 2

I heard it is 'Better to ask for forgiveness than permission.'

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The kind of fucking people that caused someone I used to know to paint HORSE on a fucking BELGIAN DRAFT. 2000 pound animal = white tail??

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I left a voicemail for permission to fuck his wife. Didn’t even get charged with trespassing and left him a cream pie for dessert

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This is my rifle this is my gun. Fuck everything I'm shooting shit.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

given permission"? He knew what he was fucking doing. There's no reason to dodge their calls, emails, and messages on social media if he

8 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 0

didn't realize what he was doing was wrong at every level. What a cunt.

8 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Actually, that counts as animal cruelty which is against the law in Canada. Punishable up to 5 years in prison.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

Since he was trespassing he willfully committed the offense.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Honestly maximum is not long enough imo.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Amen, homie!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

x2 + trespassing, more than 10 years. Better than nothing. Lemme just walk up on someone's yard and kill their dogs. "Oh, ...coyotes?" dumb

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think the thing that kills me the most is that the first one probably died with a smile on their face thinking he was friendly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My uncle had a dairy farm upstate New Hampshire. His cows were shot on a regular basis during deer season by out of state hunters.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I hope he plugged some of the bastards.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Few of them got nailed with rock salt from a 10 gage shotgun. And yet another few actually ended up paying for the cow.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They all should, I am sure I don't have to tell you those buggers are hella expensive.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It got so bad he started painting large orange circles with a diagonal line through it on the cows.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

How kind! These deers have bright orange targets painted on them!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How does one mistake for

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Alcohol.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You dont, assholes just want to shoot something.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Shitty people sometimes just want to kill something. Doesn't matter who or what it is.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

What.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

We have, 'POSTED,' signs all around our property line to protect our horses. We've been lucky so far.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How the...?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You have a source by chance?

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Wow, at least he's remorseful, but that guy should never be allowed to handle a firearm ever again. What a fucking idiot.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Whelp that's awful. Thanks for tracking it down anyway.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

He probably called after spotting them, and didn't want to lose them.

If he waited or took the call he would have lost the opportunity. He's a prick.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't care when he called.come on my property without permission with a gun the first thing you'll see is the sherrif's car.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

"lose" a pet potbelly pig that doesnt even run from the sight of you?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Right, but the "Hunter" didn't want to miss the opportunity to kill a pig.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He shot them point blank. In a pen. There is nothing justifying or explaining his actions. Other then he being a shit "hunter"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's what I'm saying....

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then we might see the wording differently. Because it seemed to me like you were excusing him.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don’t know why you’re being dv. This is probably exactly what happened. Guy is def at fault tho

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I figured the farmers land was partially woodsy and hunters ask permission regularly.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But he's still a fuckwit for not actually getting permission, and shooting something he wasn't sure was game.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Oh without question he's a prick, I'm just saying he probably saw fish in a barrel and instead of living up to "hunter" he took the low road

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

He saw something move and shot it. He'd probably have shot a dog, cat, or anything else that crossed his path just as quickly.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hunter here. What kind of hunter sees potbellied pigs and thinks wild boar? If you can't identify without a doubt what your hunting (1/2)

8 years ago | Likes 1246 Dislikes 12

Probably the kind that ask permission by leaving a voicemail.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Boar are an invasive species. Pigs can get out and multiply. The hunter made a mistake, but Iirc no charges filed. He made a stupid choice

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've shot lots of feral hogs and non of them looked like potbellied pigs

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not defending the actions, just presenting the only plausible view I could see.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hahaha this happened to my family pig too kept escaping

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 42

hahaaaha?

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Yea it's was funny, the guy who shot it was so upset after he found out. Local paper did an article "first wild boar in _______ county" lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sport hunters.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Right, they don't even make the same grunt noises

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Couple of weeks ago in NY near where I was hunting took a popshot, with a pistol, at 530pm (sunset/dark) thinking it was a deer. He...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ended up shooting and killing his neighbor who was walking her dog.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah and what kind of hunter tries to shoot a wild boar "points blank"? that's a good way to lose.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is completely ridiculous. He killed someones pets how is that not against the law.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

In the state of Texas until a few years ago if someone killed your pet you could legally kill them

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

...did the law get changed because too many cop raids killed pet dogs trying to defend their family?

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

The hunter must be of the mind set "better to ask forgiveness than permission" he got away with it too.

8 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

People with that mindset tend to not like saying sorry either.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He did fucking get away with it and that kills me. That poor family.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Remind me of a sad news I read a week ago. A dumb fuck was hunting at dusk and killed a woman by accident, he thought she was a deer. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

..With a pistol, noteworth. After dark, also noteworthy. That second one is illegal. Who hunts deer after dark with a handgun?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In the dark, with a handgun at 200 yards *

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He got charged with manslaughter though. He was illegally hunting after sunset.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

2/2 as you said, if you cannot identify your target, DON' FUCKING SHOOT!

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

More guns!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nothing against hunters but I doubt any of them are missing their Mensa meetings to go shoot some animals in the face.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 25

Agreed. Hunting season is scheduled years in advance. No self-respecting hunter would double book something with a hunting trip.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

"Nothing against hunters, but I think they are all dumb."

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I didn't say that. At least exactly that. Ever watch that game warden show on tv? You'll see what I'm referring to.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I'm guessing it is similar to Cops? If so, then I would say that it is far from a representative sample of the population.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Of course. I wasn't being serious. I used to ride dirt and street bikes- I cringe at the Metal Mulisha wannabes and squibs on the road.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

(2/2) don't shoot! Also you need to get permission to hunt that area first! This idiot has more in common with poachers than hunters

8 years ago | Likes 941 Dislikes 5

As another hunter, the first hint to him should have been being able to walk right up to a 'wild animal'.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Another hunter here and i completely agree, if you don’t 100% know what you’re shooting and where the bullet travels, DON’T!

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Amateur, sounds like. Point-blank double-kill on boar? What a dumb-ass.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Wanted to kill? If it's out of his system, good!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be entirely fair, if you can't tell potbellied pigs from wild boar at a distance, you probably shouldn't hunt at all, permission or no.

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 3

well, by his logic, you can leave him a voice mail and shoot him on his own property thinking it he was a wild animal

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

I was hunting sasquatch, judge

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

looked like a bear to me

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*lily-livered pea-brained big-footed jack-a-napes, judge.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

3/3) he didn't have permission so technically he was poaching

8 years ago | Likes 562 Dislikes 2

In Texas they have some stiff penalties for hunting on someone's land without permission also you're liable to get shot

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't walking around on property without approval be a huge safety concern? You don't know what or who plays there let alone domestic pet

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yea and that fact he shot them point blank. thats not even hunting that executing

8 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

Its poaching on 2 accounts since he was trespassing, and shot an animal he didnt have a tag for

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He basically asked for permission but never gave them a chance to answer. So I can ask permission to take someone's car by voice mail?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And destruction of property the pigs are property. What if it was a dog ie.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a fellow food Hunter, I fully agree with you.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

He’s a reckless moron doing a disservice to responsible sportsmen everywhere. He shouldn’t be allowed to hunt again.

8 years ago | Likes 138 Dislikes 1

Several US states he would lose guns and vehicle. A massive fine, serve time in jail, and no longer allowed to hunt ever

8 years ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 0

That’s how it works in WI. Good to hear it’s the same elsewhere

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Isn’t that like the first rule of hunting? Always know your target?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Know your target, and what is beyond it. It's a gun safety rule that should be memorized well before getting into the hunting stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And know whats behind your target.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

and to have fun! No jk. I agree with this. Safety first.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah that’s what I was thinking of

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
