Gonna be real with you here chief. If I was personally warned about getting gunned down at a school in any country, I'd consider all parts of it dangerous backwater.
Railroad tracks are a great analogy here- with the train derailments in Ohio- how many people have had to relocate? I’d argue many of them weren’t “near” the tracks. Their homes have become a toxic waste site regardless. Funny part about guns is you don’t have to be “near” them for them to kill you. DC was the “murder capital of the world” before the gun ban. It’s never been R. We have a mass shooting almost every day in the US. I hope you or your loved ones are never in one.

Bet they call us a "shithole country". Might be at least partially right.
bourbonandbaddecisions
Is there insurance for that?
PinappleExpress
I mean *broadly gestures at the US*, yeah
columbusolh2000
Well where else were they going to get gunned down?
Maxgaap
Venezuela, El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia, Honduras, Brazil or any other place with a higher incidence of gun deaths than the United States

You're not wrong in terms if the stats. Those countries would also have travel advisories.
lightfoot2
Not the United States, just certain backwater portions of it.

Far fewer. The South seems to be where it's at right now.

https://brilliantmaps.com/mass-shootings-in-the-usa/ looks like the whole country to me.
joot
yep, the whooooole country.
lightfoot2
Yep, most are in FL, TX, LA, and parts of CA. Avoid and life is fine.
smorsdoeuvres
Does it have to happen to you or the people you love before it’s no longer *fine?
Fyreworx
To quote the cranberries "it's not me. It's not my family"
lightfoot2
I don't play on railroad tracks, and neither do my family or people I am concerned about. Leave states like R ones.
