Did the little piggy "Go Wee wee wee all the way home? Geic-----Oh wrong Time!!!

Growing up I had one of these cause I wouldn't let my grandpa put him down since he was a runt, gotta say that's a quiet eater compared lol

If my daughter sees this, I’ll be fostering one too...

Love pot bellies. A male one taught me how to run very fast across a muddy field in wellies and vault a gate :)

We have a half pot belly/kune-kune who charges around the place. As quick as our retriever over short distances

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They are surprisingly speedy.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At the risk of asking a question that's going to make me sound like an idiot, it that a pig or a boar?

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

She’s a pot belly pig....

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You can foster pigs??

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My mother did

Our animal shelter has a pair of pigs right now

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There are some animal rescues that rescue abandoned farm animals. We just happen to be near a few. Both my wife and I used to be in

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Animal care. We just foster for fun now....

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I have a male potbelly just like that one. Want to foster him too? I need him gone!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And your pets thank you....especially the cat

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have 2 rescue pots.. one is too smart and "escapes" into the goat barn to eat their food &sleep in their stalls. Does yours try to escape?

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Nah. She stays in her pen - we let her out to adventure. She does pretty well with that and doesn’t root when she’s out...

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

! My girl escapes to the goat side to root up their grass since she has flopped hers all up already. + she eats their food too hard 2 resist

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you forked her yet? They love scratches with a fork.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

At first I thought this was an awful typo. ? We have a brush on the end of a pole that she loves....

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I figured it would catch someone's attention.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If anyone posts pictures of their pet pig you get a bunch of edge lords in the comments making bacon jokes and telling OP to eat their pet

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Such human eyes

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There’s something wrong with your dog

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That'll do, pig.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

”be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm...”

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I use to have a pig and yeah those little fattys have got some speed on them when they choose to run.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's a smart bit of stockpiling

Rip yard.

6 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

Maybe. Mine doesn't root at all.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I built her an enclosure to ensure we could use the area for our garden after her stay. Tactical RIP yard.

6 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 0

I would build a fence to give Tater Tot a forever home. I've always wanted a pot belly and they look amazing!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How big will she get?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Probably about 100 pounds.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My 12 y.o. potbelly is 124lb, which is pretty typical. About 19" tall.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Aww, that second to last photo—what a look. Have you fostered pot bellies before?

6 years ago | Likes 172 Dislikes 0

First time but I don’t think it’ll be our last. We started fostering because the rescue near us shut down due to funding....

6 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 0

Our family pet looked exactly like her. Her name was Emily. So smart and the best guard animal. Very protective of us all.

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

She’s VERY smart and is a little protective. When we first got her she would allow ZERO attention / petting - she’s come a long way...

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Aww, that's sad. You're doing a good thing!

6 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Hmm, care to elaborate on why the last? I’m asking because I was thinking about fostering but I worry because I don’t have exp with them.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I DON’T think it will be the last. I had a great time with her and would definitely recommend fostering. Just hard to let her go...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whoops! Should have read that more carefully, sorry. Aww, I don’t blame you. That face.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve bonded with her more than my dogs. She’s super smart. They have the intelligence of 4 year old children.

This is, by far, the best resource i've found for keeping pigs as pets: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1930580746/

I figure it makes my threats more credible.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She’s adorable! And to people making food jokes: you’ve got nothing we haven’t heard before! Here’s Rufus

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Rufus is cute as hell. Is he aware of that?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you! Yes I bet he’s aware...just like Tater Tot ??❤️

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing both me and her are smelling a foster fail. She just looks at home.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

She is VERY happy here. Have been able to pet her and she has great recall. Would love to keep her. We just might...

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

DO IT!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do pigs have to have their hooves (is that the right word?) trimmed like horses & llamas do?

6 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

*"trotter" is the word for 'pig hoof'

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Asking the question that would NEVER occur to me that I wanted the answer to.

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Yeah. They get mobility issues if they aren’t trimmed. Doesn’t have to be done very often....

6 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Neat! Thanks

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Pot belly pig vet here, they also need their tusk trimmed. A

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I walk mine on the sidewalk twice a day and it's almost enough to keep his hooves trimmed. I touch them up once or twice a year.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

what do you use to cut the hoof?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are several types of trimmers. I have a small set that look like high-grade pruning shears.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

do you like those more than the kind that have like a sliding hole/pincher type?
