So according to #2 my penis will always be bigger as long as it's on the bottom. Learn something new everyday.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This shit pisses me off.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

This is correct

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I'm glad that the gifs lasted long enough to put things in...perspective.

10 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 4

Stop This.

10 years ago | Likes 143 Dislikes 2

It hurts my brain!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't listen to StoneColdSuperJam. This hurts my brain and is amazing.

BURN THE WITCH

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I really wanted to see this obligatory post

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You've betrayed me for the last time, brain!

10 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 1

Et tu, Brain!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

v This one is photographed with some weird lens distortion thing going on. It wouldn't work without the camera

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sorry dude, there's no lense trick done in that one

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The outside of the curve is longer than the inside. The left side of the shape slopes inward, and is aligned. It's just the positioning.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Then let's see that again, without the camera lens now shall we

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except it now has to be rotated so the edges align, in which case they are the same size - no camera tricks here.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That second to the last one is straight up fucking witchcraft.

10 years ago | Likes 841 Dislikes 8

Penultimate

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

penultimate*

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah that's the law of contrast.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Buuuurn the witch!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I actually don't see whats so weird about it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never mind that the bottom side of the shapes are darker than the upper side.

10 years ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 0

I actually saw nothing special about it and trying to see something else but can't; like the dress debate - it was just cyan.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh maybe one would indeed see some difference in brightness

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Burn the witches!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

http://web.mit.edu/persci/people/adelson/images/checkershadow/checkershadow_illusion4med.jpg this one always gets me. A and B are the same.

10 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 1

.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's because of how our brains interpret color in the presence of shadow. It's like that "is the dress blue or gold" meme.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I just made it a gif, and it looks as if the tiles change colour when a line is added between them v

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

You da real MVP

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Squint your eyes and you will actually see the difference. It's amazing

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I hate that so much

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

every time i see this i have to go into paint and draw a line between them just to be sure. usually illusions don't get me but holy crap

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Here’s an explanation from “Tim's Vermeer”: /s">/sONtnAo">http://imgur.com/sONtnAo http://pastebin.com/w3XTqVbh. Don’t have the movie file to make a gif.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i actually dont get that one

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Ditto. Perhaps we are too awesome for such tricks.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Our colour vision is super context-based. The diamonds have a subtle gradient on them that screws up the context.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The top of each is lighter than the bottom. This makes it look like each row is lighter than the last, even though it isn't.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I understood that. But it seems very obvious, so I didn't get what the illusion was supposed to be.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Same here, nothing looked weird to me on that one.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is the illusion. It's not immediately apparent to most people that it's shaded, so looks like the one being moved fits multiple shades.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha I guess so. To me it looked just silly, lol

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm smelling something there. Why do i see 3 colours when it's only one? If it was one then it'd be one solid gray square?

10 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Exactly!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The tiles have gradients on them.

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

There's a dark to light gradient on the shapes. Top triangles are white (= high contrast), which makes the shapes seem darker for the brain

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

This is correct
