Is this bad for the dog's health though? maybe you shouldn't get a dog suited for long distance running if you're not even going to walk it

Very. They don't live long enough to get coronary disease but they do get joint problems, diabetes, etc.

I have a chubby dog too, I grab on his fat and jiggly it really fast. He seems to enjoy it.

Dog: "what's fat'"? Me: "it's what happens when you eat too much" Dog: "That sounds awesome let's get fat!"

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Saying something great is 'A-1' is most definitely not a meme from instagram. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/A1

understood. but its usually used by by people who make shitty memes for IG

A guy in my neighborhood had a lab that fat. Poor thing couldn't take 3 steps without wheezing like crazy. And he died at only 9 years 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

old. This isn't cute or something to laugh about. If a dog gets this fat, it's the owners fault. He needs a diet and exercise. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's assuming the dog didn't have medical conditions causing it to be overweight. Easy to pass judgement without knowing the full story.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Right back at you. I do know the full story. Dog owners talk to each other, you know. And this guy openly said that his dog got lots of 1/4

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

human-food off the table, lots of treats all the time, etc. Also, he got a new dog shortly after. Also a lab. Also black. Same name. And 2/4

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

the poor thing got exactly as fat within about 6 months.99% of the time it IS the owners fault. So yeah… I judge. Also because some 3/4

He's not fat...he's just poofy.

As a vet: he's fat and it'll cause health problems. But it's understandably hard to convince people to put their pets on a diet.

Looks....husky to me

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

It's a husky Husky

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Seriously. This is animal abuse letting them get so fat. Poor dog is going to have all kinds of health problem because the owner is too lazy

Not sure if related, but my uncle's dog put on 20 lbs when it got neutered. Still as active as when it was 5 lbs underweight.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Neutering will have them gain weight more easily, can't feed them the same amounts after.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd rather my uncle listen to his dog's vet than a random onternet stranger, but thank you for the input.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am actually 3 or 4 written assignments away from being a qualified vet, but do listen to the dog's vet, yes.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dosent stop it from being unhealthy for the dog... He should have fed it less.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Here, let me feed you less calories than a doctor recommends for your specific status of health. Sound fair?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The doctor wouldn't reccomend a diet that makes it gain 20lbs...
