Are sneks capable of love?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

scientifically no but they can display a desire of interaction and handling.. they are also much smarter then given credit for

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hi, snek.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think they're beautiful creatures. I just never want to see one up close. Ever. I am terrified snakes.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I respect the fact you can admire them and their beauty from afar

Lived with a reptile breeder for a while- Aren't these huge, strong as fuck, and extremely aggressive? Like, rip your hand off, aggressive?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

their reputation was from when they were wild imports. cbb animals tend to be dog good if socialized and well handled.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

but they are very powerful animals that do from 5-7' and 15-40 lb

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

this boy is literally like a dog. a good friendly dog

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wow. I remember the one my old room mate had, in a shallow wide terrarium, and it would hiss like the devil if you came too close.

Never been a huge fan of snakes but my buddies ball python is adorable it seriously loves to cuddle and have no problem being handled.

8 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 1

they got their own personality and character. not for everybody but amazing none the less

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I think pythons by their very nature love to cuddle... they just have quite a different definition from us :P

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

nope rope

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

they really are not that.. if your scared of snakes you might be surprised at how good and gentle they can be

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

None dangerous where I'm from. Play with them as a kid. I was just fooling with words. Pythons nice when fed. Black mambas not so much.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

respects.. just try to let people that are willing to listen know. i actually do a lot of educational and public hands on displays

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All good :-) We agree, this is one of the most efficient design nature came with. No doubt it deserves understanding and respect.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thank you

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've always wanted a Blood. I hear they are most like a dog from some. But they are snippy as fuck. I got two balls and a boa.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

as babies they can be nippy. doesn't last with some work and effort. I would say anybody with experience should have a blood in their life

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are snakes capable of affection or anything?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

technically no. but they do form bonds with people and can have prefered people. they can be very friendly and seek out interaction as well

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

but if somebody was to say their snake loves them i will not dispute it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think the only lizard capable of love are tegus, and they're quite intelligent. Sadly this is only what I've heard, as I don't own one.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

monitor lizards are up there to.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can snakes be tamed to become pets?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

If you want to start, the easiest first snake is a ball python. They don't get terribly big and they're extremely docile

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

occasional fussy feeders.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Some are, but I've had more trouble with any arboreal species than I have with any bp, and they're easy enough to assist feed

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They can be phenomenal pets! If you work with them and hold\interact with them they are awesome!

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

So, do they recognize you and seek attention? (to hangout with you not just food and needs) @OP

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yes they do. this one above is very touchy.. he will be out and just put his nose to me or rest his head on me. not seeking warmth.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Have you ever been bitten?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yes and more times than i can remember. typically from babies and feeding mistakes. I have had lots of snakes in my time in the hobby (1)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I get sad my dog comes to play with me, can snakes detect this change in emotion?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i personally feel they can. they are far from stupid, and definitely pick up on energy levels

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Snakes can be very affectionate companions, but you do need to know they're reptiles and express themselves differently than mammals.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

For one, the fact snakes, like cats but unlike dogs, are solitary by nature

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I doubt it, but they do like cuddling up to warm things, e.g. your body or neck. They aren't a nurturing species.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

i agree to a degree. there is more to them than most realize. they use as much of their little brain as they can

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I double tapped. Did I boop Mr.Snek?

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 3

he met you in the middle! boop dat snoot!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0
