I'm moving to Belgium if Trump or hillary win. Only for three years but I'm still moving regardless.

I hear Canada takes refugees and those seeking political asylum.
PianoMan2112
Unless you can prove Trump is going to have you imprisoned or executed, that's probably not going to work.
canadianmaplesizzurp
The Americans made their bed, now they can lay in it

Only white people can say they're leaving if Trump wins. I mean ok sure other races can say it, but then it just sounds like his policy.

I thought about doing that back in 2000, but after doing some research, I decided that there wasn't anywhere else that I wanted to be.
This is it. This is the ground I'm standing on, there isn't anywhere to retreat to from here.
Cheomesh
Yeah at one point I looked into it, too...the conclusion was Canada or Britain :/

Citizenship and Immigration Canada begs to differ.

I saw it, upvoted it, but never noticed they're the same username until now. Guess I'll go to work now.
Hahaha all good. Is your user name a billy Joel and a rush reference?
Yeah. Weird mix, more of what I liked when I first needed an alias versus later on, so I tacked Rush on to help with duplicate usernames.
You think Trump can win.
I guess you didn't see my reply. I'm already Canadian
Not relevant.
Ohh, I don't know or follow any of it. It will affect me but I can't do anything about it. It was a silly joke

Americans are hilarious- people fleeing a political crisis are a menace, unless it's Americans because we're such good people (:
Plaaant
To be fair, we have a reputation for being good tourists.
DrOfMachetecine
You realize that a lot of the people who say they're leaving are the people who say that refugees should be accepted, right?
Depends. I've met people from both sides of the issue who swear up and down that if the oppossing candidate wins, they'll love

Fleeing through illegal means* most Americans are talking about legal immigration.
LapisScarab
Bud, hold that comment, do some research on refugees, then come back to it.
crazyhornedlizardlady
No theyre not. Theyre talking about moving not thinking of logistics or else they would already have their visas ready to go.
LordKrondor9000
Do you know what a refugee is? If so, did you know that there's a lengthy vetting process for them?
So are most refugees
One of the nice things about being American is that compared to everyone else, you have money. People with money are welcome most places.

Just replying for future reference
The Canadian entrepreneur and investment immigration classes require a very high level of wealth, even by American standards.
If you are not a professional or skilled worker, the easiest way to immigrate to Canada is to come here first on a student visa 1/2
and subsequently apply for permanent residence upon graduation, as Canada has an immigration class for those educated in Canada. 2/2
Are we talking six figures or seven?
Seven is probably on the low side.
