This was one of many photos given to my great grandfather by Joe Rosenthal in WW2

It was a gift from Joe since my great grandfather sent out his photos as a military post office worker

for the sake of pete, this is not the 'original' photo. this was a staged 2nd raising of the flag. the first was in combat and much smaller.
